Fiction Writing Workshops

I have taught literature, hypertext, publishing and writing courses at Johns Hopkins University, UW Extension, Henry Cogswell College, Gilda's Club, The Old FireHouse in Redmond WA, 826 Seattle, and the PolyClinic in Seattle. I served as Writer-in-Residence as Richard Hugo House from 2003-2005. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in talking about writing.

Nail Your Novel

Here is the description:

A one day seminar and workshop toward the design of a saleable novel or memoir.

Through a scene by scene examination of books that have made both excellent novels and good movies, we will explore the design and function of the well structured story. A well structured narrative is the root of a compelling novel, memoir or screenplay. Using the principles presented in the seminar, we will in analyze your book-in-progress and apply transform your work into a clearly stated, dramatic story. By the end of the day you will have a functional novel summary and novel structure.

This class will be use to anyone either in the planning stages or at work revising a novel or memoir.
